Mortal Kombat 1 to Introduce Crossplay in Early 2024 for PC, PS5, and XSX; Quan Chi Joins the Roster

Mortal Kombat 1 is set to receive a significant update in early 2024, introducing crossplay functionality between PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5. The announcement, made during a recent livestream by NetherRealm Studios, aims to enhance the game's online experience and broaden the playerbase across different platforms.

In addition to crossplay, a WiFi filter feature will be implemented, allowing players to decline matches based on connection type. The introduction of crossplay addresses a crucial element in modern fighting games, facilitating a unified online community and competitive play among players on diverse platforms.

For players eager to diversify their roster, Quan Chi, a new character included in Mortal Kombat 1's Kombat Pack, is available in early access for those with the corresponding content. The Kombat Pack, priced at $40, includes characters from various franchises, such as Omni Man from Invincible and Peacemaker from Suicide Squad, among others.

While the absence of crossplay at the game's launch raised questions, the upcoming update signifies NetherRealm Studios' commitment to evolving Mortal Kombat 1 and ensuring a more interconnected and engaging experience for players across platforms.
